“What a terrific treat to have Chef Tim Wood, longtime respected Carmel Valley Chef and a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, operating Woody’s at the Airport in Monterey. This restaurant is VERY centrally located for all of us as well as extremely convenient for all of our valued visitors flying into the area, right off of Garden Road and a major artery, Highway 68. For our “inaugural flight”, we chose to order an array of choices off of his very appealing menu! For starters, the Pot Stickers were crispy and flavorful with a Sesame-Soy Sauce Drizzle, a very tasty sauce. The Broccoli Bisque was simply incredible with an amazing flavor. For our main course, we ordered Sand Dabs which were very tender, accompanied by delicious whipped potatoes and perfectly prepared fresh vegetables. We also ordered a thick and tasty Patty Melt which was cooked to perfection at our requested “Medium” with Caramelized Onions, Swiss Cheese, and Thousand Island Dressing nestled on grilled rye bread with crispy, flavorful French Fries. The Chocolate Brownie for dessert rounded up a fabulous dinner. We will be back soon to sample other items from his menu and also try his mouth-watering Daily Specials which look fabulous to us.
